We are constantly fighting to keep Tellonym a place where people can truly be themselves. It’s a challenging task to decide which content should be deleted, since we are not supporters of censorship, but advocates of free speech. At the same time we are improving continuously to prevent unwanted and illegal content from our platform before it reaches the receiver, as well as removing content after it has reached the receiver or has been published. In some cases we decide to take measures against certain users due to violation of our Terms of Use or the law, either by (temporarily) removing them or other forms of disablement.
Our platform offers different layers of protection, some of which can be individually set up by the users. These protection layers are our self-learning language filters, custom word filters, picture filters, an extensive blocking mechanism, a reporting system, moderators that decide which content gets deleted based on the Terms of Use, and a support team which has been praised for its adequate decisions, assistance and explanations.
In cases where our efforts have not stopped users from receiving unwanted messages and removing the content or sender is not sufficient, we give advice and redirect to qualified parties to undertake next steps.
