Tellonym is a messaging network that is accessible on the Web and through the Android and iOS application. The name is derived from Tell and “Anonym” (the German word for anonymously). Tellonym allows users to send messages through the platform, both anonymous and non-anonymous.
Tellonym offers its users the opportunity to have more meaningful conversations and escape other platforms where status, likes, popularity and impossible beauty standards are more important.
Tellonym users are able to receive messages through the platform which we call Tells, Every Tell a user receives is first in his or her private inbox, which nobody but the receiver can see. Only if a user decides to answer a Tell, the original Tell and the answer become public and are visible to other users. The requirement of answering a message to make it visible to others, allows users to have full control over their own profile.
Direct Messages
Application users can also chat privately with our DM feature. DM requests are first shown in a users’ private inbox as well and are not anonymous. Users can decide on their own if they accept the chat request and answer privately, or if they want to answer the message as Tell, showing both the requester’s message as well as their own answer publicly.
